Step 12 - Action Step — Bear public testimony; magnify callings and talents in serving others; hold family home evening and family prayer; prepare to attend the temple and worship there
Bear public testimony;

Never in the 13 years I've been a member have I bore my testimony, with the exception of a couple times at the end of a lesson in primary. I used to have a mortal fear of speaking in front of people. Now, I just don't know how to put it in words. I'm usually very good with words.

magnify callings and talents in serving others;

I'm pretty good at magnifying my callings now that I have boosted my self-esteem a bit and am not petrified of being judged and feeling so far beneath everyone. Serving others is where I shine. Of course it is, I am a codependent after all. LOL I know that my Heavenly Father made me to serve others. I feel so much better when I'm serving. To know that I'm making a difference is so wonderful. The fact that serving others take the focus off me and my issues is a great side benefit.

hold family home evening and family prayer;

Areas we are working on. We aren't real good with family home evening. We are slightly better with family prayer before bed.

prepare to attend the temple and worship there

We were sealed in the Mesa Arizona temple 4 years ago. Since moving here, our temple attendance has been better, but it's still hit and miss. We really do need to work on this!

"The solution to this problem ultimately is neither governmental nor institutional. Nor is it a question of legality. It is a matter of individual choice and commitment. Agency must be understood. The importance of the will in making crucial choices must be known. Then steps toward relief can follow."
