Just checking in

It has been a while since I posted anything and I just wanted to check in. I went to the temple for my own endowment a couple of weeks ago. It was an amazing feeling to hold my new temple recommend and KNOW that I was worthy and ready to receive it.

I am completely convinced that my focus on the temple in my recovery has made all of the difference. I made the decision that I was going to get ready to go to the temple, first with a limited use recommend for baptisms and then for my endowment. Having that as a goal, as well as working through the 12 steps has made such a difference. I feel good. I am learning to love myself, and to feel God's love for me. The atonement really does work. The Lord loves each of you, no matter what your sins, problems and other emotional "baggage" may be. I am proud to report that I am 147 days clean and "sober". I am not the same person I was a year ago.

"My brethren who are caught in this addiction or troubled by this temptation, there is a way. Don’t accommodate any degree of temptation. Prevent sin and avoid having to deal with its inevitable destruction. So, turn it off! Look away! Avoid it at all costs. Direct your thoughts in wholesome paths. Please heed these warnings. Let us all improve our personal behavior and redouble our efforts to protect our loved ones and our environment from the onslaught of ography that threatens our spirituality, our marriages, and our children.
