Sometimes, He Speaks...

I know in general it's often my practice to express feelings of doubt and skepticism and rarely contribute much in the way of anything faith promoting. But sometimes, the Lord still speaks to me. Abides with me. Truly his yoke is easy. Like tangible peace. Soft waves within. Ineffable stillness. I've come to believe these moments of clarity won't solve all of life's trials or vicissitudes but they remain a welcome friend. A help along the way.

Recently I read the first 8 chapters in John. Peace was already brewing upon me something fierce. I came to where Christ declares his divinity as the great I Am. I decided to go to Exodus 3 to hear him there. One of my favorite chapters. I hardly believe in anything half the time anymore I swear but when I read that (a wild tale) everything within me vibrates with,.. light, and majesty,.. and belief. A desire to believe! Like the very blood within me was magnetized to this story. A "memorial unto all generations."

I've always liked how God tells Moses to take the elders of Israel to the king and say "The Lord God of the Hebrews hath met with us". "Us". They weren't there anymore than I was and yet, I feel like I'm there. In front of that burning bush. As if The Lord God of the Hebrews has met with, me. Us.

Not that it's necessary but this time around while I read I listened to this: ( ). A fine sermon by itself. Enjoy.

"I'm glad man. It's good to hear that. Thanks!

They are terrific teachers aren't they. You made me realize something just now. The scriptures teach my heart. Which for me is a little different than teaching my mind only. Ha!, that's why I can't put them behind me! As much as my mind may find dichotomy and even frightening things my heart finds treasures untold! How many wonders can one cavern hold?! Lol, #LittleMermaid. Anyway, thanks man. That was good for me to distinguish. I'll never not read the scriptures. Cause I know what they do, for me. I know why I read them. Hmm...

Another good tune for your spiritual listening pleasure ( )"

"If, through our unrighteous choices, we have lost our footing on that path, we must remember the agency we were given, agency we may choose to exercise again. I speak especially to those overcome by the thick darkness of addiction. If you have fallen into destructive, addictive behaviors, you may feel that you are spiritually in a black hole. As with the real black holes in space, it may seem all but impossible for light to penetrate to where you are. How do you escape? I testify the only way is through the very agency you exercised so valiantly in your premortal life, the agency that the adversary cannot take away without your yielding it to him. "
