You may now Rejoice!

I hereby announce that I am taking a break from this site again. I have again become addicted to the addiction recovery site, and I need a recovery period.

I, of myself, am powerless to overcome my addiction to this website, and my life has become unmanageable. Or perhaps the problem is I don't have a life.

I'm going to ask God to remove from me the constant urge and desire to check this site, and I'm going to refocus on everything else I have to do. (I am using this site as an outlet, as self medication while I procrastinate.)

There may even be an unclean spirit prompting me to compulsively check this site every fifteen minutes. I'll see about casting it out...

Just teasing, Kick_It!

Anyway, while I work on other things, you can all rejoice that I will no longer be commenting on everything you say.

And I welcome any nasty Anonymous comments below. Have fun!

I will continue to pray fervently for you all, as I do for so many of you "by name." (I can't really do that for the Anonymous posters, so perhaps that is why I have not developed much charity towards you. I'll work on that.)

We shall see how long this lasts. I'm hoping that by announcing my intentions to withdraw so formally, I will have more motivation to stay away, and I will stay away for longer than I otherwise would have.

Love you all, and I will miss you.

"I abuse this site sometimes instead of Facebook. It's a step in the right direction I suppose. But I probably need to chill out too. Either way, see ya 'round la vida eh. Stay clean. Good luck."

Totally understand
"Sometimes this site is like a soap opera that can be addictive itself. Come back when you are ready. Good for you for calling time out! I've had to do that too."

another break
"After about 2.5 months away from this website addiction, I returned for a daily dose for 3 months. Time for another break.

I'm going to try to come here only once a week, and I'll give myself only one post/response or 30 minutes. I'm going to do the same for my addictions to news sites and social networking (neither is as strong as this one).

Or maybe I'll limit myself to 15 minutes each day on ONE of those sites. I'll figure something out.

See you guys in the funny papers."

Wishing you well BC and Rugga
"Clean, I find it funny. I too was away for a long time as some others as well. Then we all were back on here at the same time . Coincidence? I think not! Either way, thank you for your insightful words. You will be missed.

Rugga, please update us on you... I think of you often and wonder how you and your wife are doing.

This site is never a waste of time, but it can be a time zapper. So with all things moderation is the key! Having said that, I believe that in the next life many of us will meet. I believe that we are not only greeted by family, by by those we helped to get to heaven and by those we help get there. We will meet anyone who served us and pointed our hearts towards our Savior. We are connected by our trials . It is our common trials that brought us here to serve and help one another. Eternal life is so much more than a bunch of rules, or even a church. It is a connection to the Divine. It is all for nothing when we don't love with the love gifted to us from the Lord himself. There are people on this site that have been part of major change in my life, and I know that our joy will be so great when the day comes when we will meet face to face.

You will be missed BC, and I hope you won't stay away too long."

"The solution to this problem ultimately is neither governmental nor institutional. Nor is it a question of legality. It is a matter of individual choice and commitment. Agency must be understood. The importance of the will in making crucial choices must be known. Then steps toward relief can follow."
