(I'm going to keep this short)

I'm 18 years old and I have had problems with pornography and masturbation for 11 years now the entirety of which I have been trying to stop but have made very little progress I wasn't even able to go see the bishop by myself I was just lucky enough that 2 of my friends found out when I was 16 and helped me go see the bishop since then my situation has become worse and now I am at a crossroads which boils down to ever I fail or I succed and it's not looking good.

We are here for you
"I remember when I was 18... I'm not the perfect example, but I know it is possible to recover from these sins through Jesus Christ. We are here for you.

I do want to share one quick thing that has been helping me a lot lately. ...PRAYER... Pray to God with all the sincerity of your heart that he will heal you... For me anyway, I have noticed that I am not always sincere or honest when I pray. Try to write your prayers to God. I have found that I have been much more honest with myself and God when I write to him... and I have gained a greater feeling of hope, love and comfort from the spirit will writing to him. The adversary wants to misuse this guilt and shame to destroy us. I know when we honestly tell God how we feel and how we wish to be clean, that he blesses us and he comforts us, and he will give us personal revelation.

I will share more later...

"Hi Dan,
I have been addicted to pornography and MB since I was around 10 years old. I am now 28 and have only recently been stringing days of sobriety together. I commend you for your early acknoweldgment of your addiction and your seeking out other areas of help. I highly recommend finding a 12 step support group and GETTING A SPONSER. I dont know you but I love you and am proud of your effort so far even if it doesnt feel like you have made much. Remember...sponser sponser sponser! It made all the difference for me."

Recovery is real
"Hi Dan,

As these other good people have said, you are not alone in your struggles. You can recover from this and it is possible to live without porn and mb. Life is better without it! Allowing others to help me has created more transparency in my life. Lying and secrets just make my life more stressful and difficult. Meditation, prayer, scripture study, and connecting with others have all helped me walk toward the Lord and away from addiction."

"Jesus rejected temptation. When confronted by the great tempter himself, Jesus "[yielded] not to the temptation‚ÄĚ. He countered with scripture. Gospel commandments and standards are our protection also, and like the Savior, we may draw strength from the scriptures to resist temptation."
