Alma 27:12 — Get this people out of this land, that they perish not; for Satan has great hold on the hearts of the Amalekites, who do stir up the Lamanites to anger against their brethren to slay them; therefore get thee out of this land; and blessed are this people in this generation, for I will preserve them.

1 Nephi 3:7 — And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

Well Today has been good so far. It was my day off work so I knew I would have to keep myself busy! It started out with a prayer and Alma 27. I really liked verse 12 because the Lord is speaking to Ammon and it really highlights what Nephi teaches in 1 Nephi 3:7. The Anti-Nephi-Lehi's(Alma 27:12) gave up their wepons of war and would rather die then sin. Rather then these people losing their lives the Lord provided a way for them to keep the Commandment of Thou shall not kill. I especially liked the I will preserve them part. The Lord loves me and you just as much as He loves these people. These people were once wicked people and they repented and changed and as it says it Alma 27 that because their repentance was so sore they did not even want to defend themselves. Same with us as we go through this process that the Lord will preserve us and give us a way to accomplish this recovery.

After my scripture study I went to a counsler and because of the nature of her job she is referring me to a specialist in my local area who specailizes in addiction recovery. This man is a member and hevaily focuses on the Church's 12 step program from what I was told so I feel it will be good thing. The brick in my stomach is lifting today especially as I listened to my uplifting playist on my ipod(which consists of accoustic guitar renditions of some hymns, and Joseph and Trek a Nashville tribute).

My day got even better as my finacee Ashley had a succesful job interview we just hope she gets this job. We spent a nice day relaxing and talking about future goals and did our very own FHE on the restoration. We are planning on going on a walk in about 20 minutes to help me lose weight for the wedding. Overall today was GREAT and I owe it all to the Lord.

He does love us more then we know and He is always listening. Press forward my Brothers and Sisters in recovery my prayers and thoughts are with you.

Great job!

"Each one who resolves to climb that steep road to recovery must gird up for the fight of a lifetime. But a lifetime is a prize well worth the price. This challenge uniquely involves the will, and the will can prevail. Healing doesn’t come after the first dose of any medicine. So the prescription must be followed firmly, bearing in mind that it often takes as long to recover as it did to become ill. But if made consistently and persistently, correct choices can cure. "
