All That He Requires

Man, I've witnessed a lot of different cases and scenarios of addiction this past two months, from a third person perspective, and... as I was thinking.. it just dawned on me... dang! Sin can screw up everything, it is like getting fishing string tangled up in itself and it is just, close to impossible to untangle it.
The Lord is good in that he figured it all out for us, what to do and what not to do. We have the manual in our hands people! It's the one and only true way that we can keep our line, nice and straight, or.. if we've already tangled it, then our obedience can untangle it, to mint condition. He said in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." All of us know what the commandments are, but we cannot know of its goodness if we don't do it! It is just like being a sales man. You will not be able to sell the product unless you have a personal testimony of it. We have to be obedient!
I was also reading Mosiah the other day, and I ran accross this amazing verse, or couple of verses, it reads in Mosaih 2: 20 - 24 "I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the thanks and praise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that God who has created you, and has kept and preserved you, and has caused that ye should rejoice, and has granted that ye should live in peace one with another—I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be u n p r o f i t a b l e servants." -- did you get that? It goes on to say -- "And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you." -- this is truley unbelievable, so simple! So plain spoken! That is all that he requires! That's it! No extra mulah here and there, with a dash of gravy on top of that rice, no! Just simple obedience! Whatever lands you're settled in or waters you tread, our Lord and saviour will be good and prosper us! Wow... lets finish King Benjamin's point here -- "And now, in the first place, he hath created you, and granted unto you your lives, for which ye are indebted unto him. And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you. And ye are still indebted unto him, and are, and will be, forever and ever; therefore, of what have ye to boast? And now I ask, can ye say aught of yourselves? I answer you, Nay. Ye cannot say that ye are even as much as the dust of the earth; yet ye were created of the dust of the earth; but behold, it belongeth to him who created you."
Man, I just want to hop on it! The good news is you guys that our God has given us the atonement so we can be liberated from the things that are holding us back from obedience! It isn't impossible, it is actually fun and fulfilling! When your relationships are starting to improve, when you start being kind, generous, honest, humble, meek and submissive like children, when you start becoming a servant unto others, doing unto them as you would like to be done unto yourselves, when you begin to read the scriptures, when you begin to pray unceasingly in your heart, and align your whole soul to the obedience of Christ and all the other commandments, that is when our life blooms forth, regardless of what season we are in! It is just that good. Let me tell you guys... don't settle for the lie that it takes a lifetime to recover, don't settle for the lie that you can make anything your 'higher power', in lieu of our Lord Jesus Christ. If he is the foundation, than you will be free. He can, he wants, he should and he will FREE YOU! He freed me! I might as well of had cancer and now it is gone, it isn't there, it dissapeared! GONE FOR GOOD. Just trust your father who loved you from the begining, who want for you to prosper, who'll support you in all that you endeavor. God will love you always, regardless of your past, regardless of your current situation, regardless of who you want to be, he loves you unconditionally. There is no being bad enough, no sin that's strong enough, no angel, no demon, no choice or thought that you are able to conjure up, that will seperate and take away his love for you. Isaiah 49: 15 says "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."

"Nothing is beyond [Christ’s] redeeming reach or His encircling empathy. Therefore, we should not complain about our own life’s not being a rose garden when we remember who wore the crown of thorns! Having bled at every pore, how red His raiment must have been in Gethsemane, how crimson that cloak! No wonder, when Christ comes in power and glory, that He will come in reminding red attire, signifying not only the winepress of wrath, but also to bring to our remembrance how He suffered for each of us in Gethsemane and on Calvary!"
