I HAVE BEEN A SLAVE TO A DRUG FOR THREE AND HALF YEARS, AND IT HAS ALSO Taken ALOT OF MY FREEDOM, BUT OUR FATHER PUT US ON
THIS EARTH TO BE PUT THROUGH TRIALS TO SHOW MUCH FAITH WE HAVE IN HIM. ID LIKE TO BARE MY TESAMONY, ON DECEMBER 15 2011 I WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD AND BEATEN WITH A CROW BAR AND I WALKED AWAY TO BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, THIS WAS A 2ND CHANCE GIVEN TO ME FROM THE LORD OUR SAVOR TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL AND BARE MY TESAMONY TO ALL THAT
IS IN NEED TO HEAR IT, AND I LEAVE YOU THIS IN THE NAME OF "JESUS CRIST AMEN"

"Welcome. It is a beautiful testimony indeed that finds peace and God's hand through tribulation and most especially that He is mighty to save and can and will heal us. Thank you for sharing."

"I am so excited for you and your baptism!!! Congratulations on this big step in your life. It is awesome to be a disciple of Christ! I can tell that you have a wonderful testimony. Don't forget to write in your journal about your baptism when you get home. You will want to remember all the details of that day for the rest of your life. Keep up the good work, Brother Pedro!"

Mi Amado Hermano
"Your testimony of "How our Father put us on this earth to be put through trials and MUCH FAITH.... Praise the Lord for you... The Lord is making up His Jewels, His future leaders. Through the lessons that you have learned and from the hard and cruel life that comes from drug addiction, no matter what the drug, you will be a strong soldier in the armies of the Lord. Know this, your trials are not yet over. Some people think that once they are baptized that all of their trials are over. They soon learn otherwise. You are in a good place. Keep informing us of your progress and go to the LDS Addiction Recovery Meetings. As you grow stronger and stronger in the Lord you will be able, because of your testimony and your life's experience, be able to reach into the heart of others and give hope to the hopeless and to strengthen those with weak knees.

Your story parallels that of my Spanish grandfather. Keep us updated and also share with us your insights so that you can help us. We are all fellow travelers down the path of recovery and enlightenment.
I am a recovering addict and a thankful son of Heavenly Father. I know that I am weak but Heavenly Father , through much Faith and trials and overcoming, will make me strong.
Muchas Gracias Hermano."

Pedro,
"There is a Church sponsored ARP meeting near you. It is on Thursday at 7:00 PM
It is at the Ontario High School Seminary Building. The address is:

1092 W. Idaho Ave., Ontario, Oregon

I wish I lived near you, my friend but I am sure there are good recovering addicts near you that you will get to know. Pedro, please don't be afraid to go to Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in your area. These programs have the same recovery available as the church sponsored meetings and there are usually many more of these meetings during the week. I would recommend going to a meeting every single day until you get adjusted to being home. Make an effort to meet at least one man at each meeting you go to and get his phone number for support. It can be very hard in the beginning but don't give up. Heavenly Father will carry you every step of the way.
Go to LOTS of meetings. You may need to try out many different meetings before you find the ones that you feel comfortable at. If you keep at it, you will find the right ones. Before you know it you will have a strong recovery program. And soon you will be able to help others that are struggling with addiction.

Please keep us informed of how you're doing, Pedro. A beautiful life awaits you but you have to put in the work."

"By emulating the Master, who endured temptations but “gave no heed unto them,” we, too, can live in a world filled with temptations “such as [are] common to man”. Of course Jesus noticed the tremendous temptations that came to him, but He did not process and reprocess them. Instead, He rejected them promptly. If we entertain temptations, soon they begin entertaining us! Turning these unwanted lodgers away at the doorstep of the mind is one way of giving “no heed.” Besides, these would-be lodgers are actually barbarians who, if admitted, can be evicted only with great trauma."
