Road to Redemption
By Layne

I am currently in the process of regaining the sanity, normalcy, and piece of mind addiction has slowly and deliberately stolen from me over the past 14 years. As a return missionary, I remember being filled with a zest for life, and a vigorous desire to share the gospel with others. Over time, that seemingly unquenchable fire, was extinguished by addiction. At the precipice of losing everything I valued in this life, I was given a second chance. I now struggle each day to regain the Spirit that once filled my soul. I know the path to redemption is through the precepts of Christ's teachings, and the example of his life. I pray that His strength can endow me with the power I require on road to provident living. I commend all of you who struggle to overcome your challenges. I pray for you, and ask that you do the same for me. God bless you, and know that you are not alone.

"Are you battling a demon of addiction—tobacco or drugs, or the pernicious contemporary plague of ography? Whatever other steps you may need to take to resolve these concerns, come first to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Trust in heaven’s promises. In that regard Alma's testimony is my testimony: "I do know," he says, "that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions."
